dreamed a local headline word for word. a factory fire, a street i know. woke at 4am and sealed it.
>two days later it ran, near enough the same words>still cannot decide if it means anything
but the timestamp is there now, so at least it is on the record and not just a story i tell.
this is the good kind of post. sealed first, checkable after. that is the only version of this that survives a sceptic.
dreamed her name lighting up my screen. next morning, an actual message, out of nowhere. small, but it landed. sealed it too late to prove though. lesson learnt.
woke up certain my 9am was off. no reason, just knew it from the dream.
>phone buzzes at 8:12>“we need to reschedule your appointment”
felt like the dream handed it to me. probably nothing but it rattled me.
the feeling of certainty on waking is the interesting part, not the cancellation itself. that is the bit worth logging.
seal it next time anon. if you had a timestamp before 8:12 you’d actually have something. >>seal a dream
same house every time, my childhood home, but with an extra door off the landing. i never go in. i wake up completely certain the room is real and i just cannot find it awake.
the extra-room dream is weirdly common. mine is a whole extra floor, always dusty, always quiet. why is it always calm and never scary.
months apart, always the same red door at the end of a corridor. i get close and wake. what do you think happens if i actually open it.
every few months. an endless staircase going down into still dark water. never scared. someone waits at the bottom with a light. it is always the exact same place.
>someone waits at the bottom
mine is an endless hallway with doors but same energy. the calm is the strange part. should be terrifying and isnt.
>counting fingers never worked for me>the light-switch test did
flip a switch, and if the light does not change, you are dreaming. got my first proper lucid within a week of doing it every time i walked through a doorway.
stable dream, fully lucid, then i think the word fly and snap straight awake. how are you all holding on?
do not launch straight up. walk first, touch a wall, keep your eyes busy on detail, then drift up slowly. the excitement is what wakes you, not the flying.
stayed still on waking at 5am, kept awareness through the transition.
>vibrations>hold, do not flinch>suddenly standing in my hallway, fully lucid
rubbed my hands to stabilise and it held for maybe two minutes. glass city, of all things.
congrats anon. two minutes on a first WILD is great. next time try not to get too excited, that is what usually collapses it.
i get right to the loud buzzing and my nerve breaks every time. it genuinely feels like something is wrong with my body and i pull myself out.
nothing is wrong. it is just sleep paralysis onset. do not fight it and do not flinch, watch it like weather passing over you. it peaks and then you are out.
i keep arriving in the same grey-lit town. no people, no sound. i could never have designed it, it is too consistent. does anyone else keep returning somewhere specific?
took me months of failing. the trick turned out to be doing less, not more.
>get comfortable, lie completely still>do not swallow, do not adjust, do not react to anything>thoughts start arriving on their own, random, not really mine>those thoughts start building the space around me>then the flying feeling, like being lifted out>and im in
it sits right between a lucid dream and being awake. more real than a dream, but i know it isnt the waking room.
the placeness of it is what gets me. i have received whole landscapes i could never have composed on purpose. that is the part no explanation quite touches.
no substance in real life, i barely even drink. but in the dream i had clearly taken something.
>the walls breathed>the colours had a sound to them>time went soft and long
woke up fascinated and a little shaken. where does the brain even get that from if i have never once felt it awake?
your brain models states it has never been in all the time, same machinery that builds a stranger's face you have never seen. does not make it less uncanny though.
>dreamed i took something>the dream actually ran the comeup>the slow tilt, the giggling, the heavy warm limbs
it matches descriptions i have only ever read, never lived. how does it know the shape of a feeling i have never had?
someone handed me a small thing in the dream and i swallowed it without asking. within seconds the room folded and i was somewhere geometric and endless. no name for what it was, no fear, just awe. i keep going back hoping to find that one again.
the classic. running through syrup while it gains on me. wake up with my heart going like i actually ran.
the frozen-legs thing is your body actually being paralysed in REM. the dream just writes a chase around the fact that you literally cannot move.
had a violent one at six that followed me for years, out of sleep and into the daylight. writing it down properly, decades later, is the first time it has felt smaller. this place helps more than i expected.
they drop into my hands one at a time. bathroom, flickering light. wake up checking my mouth every time.
>what does it mean
stress, almost always. i get the teeth one the week before any deadline without fail.
>you forget the 300 misses and remember the one hit
sure. but a sealed registry counts the misses too, in public, next to the hits. that is the entire difference. run the numbers on pre-declared predictions and selection bias has nowhere left to hide.
this is the only framing that makes the question answerable at all. anecdotes prove nothing. a dated, falsifiable ledger at scale actually could.
genuine question for the doubters here. if the hit rate on sealed, pre-declared predictions beat chance at scale, would that move you? or is there no amount of evidence that would?
genuine question. i lean sceptic but the hit rate on this board makes me wonder.
the timestamp idea is the only honest way to ever find out. record the prediction before the event, at scale, and let the numbers talk. anecdotes prove nothing.
